We left New York this morning and drove 220 miles to Washington D.C passing through New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. It took most of the afternoon so we got to our hotel and went straight out for something to eat. After dinner we came back to the hotel bar, had a drink and went upstairs to watch a film. We watched Never Let me Go then saw on the news that Osama Bin Laden had been killed.
Thousands of people gathered at the White House to celebrate his death, we are staying under 1 mile from the White House and considered going down there but I was a bit scared something would kick off. We could hear people running down the streets to get there and horns were beeping until early hours of the morning.
