We wanted to get a good look around Chicago so we booked a segway tour for this morning. I had never been on a Segway before so was a bit scared but it was great fun and I’m very glad we did it. You use your body weight to control the motor, leaning slightly forward to move forward and slightly backwards to reverse. It took a little while to get used to but was really enjoyable once we got the hang of it!
We sped round the city with our tour guide and group, we saw Millennium Park with the Cloud Gate mirrored bean, the city skyline, Lake Michigan, Northerly Island, Buckingham Fountain and lots more. It was quite windy but the sun was shining so it was a lovely morning.
We had a quick bite to eat, picked up our laundry and went back to the hotel. Paul remembered yesterday his friend Jonathan from school now lives in Chicago so we emailed him and met up for a drink this afternoon. He bought his wife Jill and we had a nice couple of hours with them.
Add a seat and another wheel and we could be old people on mobility scooters!
