There is so much to do in San Francisco, but we are only here for a few days so are squeezing everything in! We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge a few times because our accommodation was in Larkspur just above the bridge. I expected it to be golden but actually it’s red, the best part was the views; you can see the whole of San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz and the beautiful mountains from the bridge.
After our trip to Alcatraz we got the tram to Fisherman’s Wharf for some lunch, we stopped right in the centre and had some soup and tuna salad at Alioto’s. We really wanted to get on the cable car like you see in adverts so we walked to the main station to pick one up to Union Square (shopping!) The system they use is really unique, the trams get to the end of the line and the drivers turn it round on a circular disc! The city is the hilliest place I have ever been to and the cable car is really fun.
We did some shopping in Union Square then caught another tram to The Ferry Building that has loads of foods markets, restaurants and great view over the harbour. We are flying to Hawaii tomorrow so we grabbed a pizza, packed our bags and had an early night.
