Last night was our final night in Rio, so this morning we packed up our things and headed to the port to catch our cruise. Rio is a beautiful place to see and I really enjoyed the ten days we spent there – with the exception of having most of our important belongings stolen! Even so, after the four of us spending three nights in a one bedroom apartment I was very happy to be moving on today!
When we booked the cruise I didn’t think much about it – it was more a means of getting to all the places we wanted to visit without having to take lots of internal flights and pack up every few days. Once on board though, I was surprised by how nice it was and how much there is to do: casino, pool, spa, restaurants, basketball etc. The first thing we did was book in a few excursions, which included seeing penguins in Port Stanley, going to a Tango night in Argentina and water rafting. Not sure about the rafting, but I am looking forward to the rest of them 🙂
We settled at the pool and ordered some cocktails and beers and spent the afternoon relaxing in the sun. We didn’t get to dinner until about 9pm so the alcohol had completely gone to my head and the only way to last the night was to carry on drinking! Dinner was amazing – I don’t know what I was expecting but this was much better.
After dinner we went up to the Crow’s Nest for a few more drinks and some music. When we arrived we were the only ones there so we made the most of the stage and dance floor and worked off a few calories from dinner! I was worried I wouldn’t sleep with the rocking, but it’s amazing what a few glasses of wine can do – I had the best night sleep in days!
