We left Los Angeles at 9am this morning for the 6 hour drive to Carmel Valley; a mountainous village in Monterey well known for its vineyards. The drive was really nice, loads of green mountains and great scenery. We arrived at the Country Garden Inn at about 3pm and went straight out to a local wine tasting bar. We had 5 different types of wine so I was drunk by about 3.30pm! We met a couple called Bob and Jill who recommended some unique wine tasting experiences in Nappa Valley; California’s ultimate wine region.
We walked back to the Inn and had some free wine and cheese on the restaurant balcony in the sunshine which was lovely since its been raining the last few days. Later we walked to a local Italian restaurant called Cafe Rustica where we had some Pizza and Salmon, yum! We were both feeling quite sleepy so walked back to the Inn to watch a some TV.
